Guardians of the Galaxy Dorbz Line at Toy Fair

Last week we reported on the Dorbz Line being released by Funko's new Vinyl Sugar Brand.
Well a lot more figures have been revealed at New York Toy Fair including a Guardians of the Galaxy line.
The GOTG line will include the main Guardians Star-Lord both asked and Unmasked, Drax, Gamora, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Gamora. It will also include the villains The Collector,  Ronan, Nebula, Yondu and Korath.  Hopefully the line is successful and we see a Howard the Duck at some point.

Check them out below.

Marvels 75th Anniversary Deadpool Variant Covers

Deadpool #36

To celebrate their 75th Anniversary Marvel Comics will be producing Deadpool variant covers for a number of their titles, see list below. I really like the Rocket Racoon variant as it pays homage to the first appearance of Groot from Tales to Astonish #13.
These variants will not be easy to find, so start your search early, get in touch with your local comic shop to reserve what you can. They will be hitting shelfs in October.

  • All-New Ghost Rider #8
  • All-New X-Men #33

  • Amazing Spider-Man #7
  • Avengers #36
  • Black Widow #11
  • Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier #1
  • Captain America #25
  • Deadpool #36
  • Guardians 3000 #1
  • Hulk #7
  • Inhuman #7

  • Ms. Marvel #9
  • New Avengers #25

  • Nova #22
  • Rocket Raccoon #4

  • Secret Avengers #9
  • She-Hulk #9
  • Spider-Man 2099 #4

  • Uncanny Avengers #25
  • Uncanny X-Men #27

We are big fans of variant covers as we believe it give multiple opportunities for artists to display their craft.

Hopefully you will be able to hunt them all down.

Good Luck on Your Hunt!

Marvel Previews #7 - First Appearance Rocket Raccoon

As promised in our earlier post about Ronan the Accuser we would be covering the key characters from Guardians of the Galaxy. This post is about the first appearance of the movies breakout star, Rocket Raccoon. His first appearance is a rare and sure to go up in value following the movies release.

Marvel Previews #7 released in the summer of 1976 is a magazine sized anthology that has a cover image of Satana drawn by Bob Larkin. The Rocket Raccoon story was written by Chris Claremont, famous for writing the X-Men comic throughout the 1980's.
Rocket Raccoons story in Marvel Previews #7

Graded copies of Marvel Previews #7 have appeared for sale recently, a CGC 9.6 sold for $3,900 while a CGC 9.4 sold for $1,200. Lower grades or ungraded can be found for around a couple of hundred. This is a good issue to add to your collection, Marvel will be pushing Rocket Raccoon in the coming months. Remember there is a GOTG 2 already scheduled.

So my advice get to hunting one down and quickly.

Good Luck on Your Hunt!
